I led the digital transformation of a legacy marketplace platform, modernising outdated systems to enhance user experience and scalability. This involved developing a strategic roadmap, implementing agile methodologies, and managing a cross-functional team of developers, designers, and marketers. By driving the redevelopment of the e-commerce system and introducing innovative monetisation features, I improved the platform’s performance and revenue potential. My work also included the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, positioning the marketplace for long-term growth and success.

  1. Groomed and prioritised an extensive backlog that had been continuously updated by stakeholders, transforming it from a disorganised Excel sheet into a streamlined and actionable plan.

  2. Introduced Agile methodologies to the team, enabling more efficient sprint cycles and improving the overall speed and quality of product delivery.

Strategy:

  • Led the modernisation of the Marketplace platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive digital transformation efforts that aligned with business goals.

  • Evaluated and identified alternative platform solutions to replace the outdated system, ensuring the new solution met ease-of-use and integration criteria.

    Developed a strategic evaluation framework that explored three horizons of growth:

    • Horizon 1: Addressed immediate, core needs.

    • Horizon 2: Focused on mid-term requirements.

    • Horizon 3: Planned for long-term growth and scalability.

User Journey Optimisation:

  1. Conducted a comprehensive review of the user journey, identifying critical opportunities to improve the checkout process, enhancing customer experience and reducing friction
